1. The Need for Verified Anonymity
University students face high academic pressure and complex social challenges. Often, they lack avenues to express stress or seek help without fear of academic victimization or social stigma. Kamp offers a constructive, closed, and verified campus bulletin where students can share honest struggles, ask course-related questions, flag hostel security issues, and support one another anonymously.
2. Verification & Safety Controls
Kamp is not an open-access platform. Access is strictly limited to verified, current students. We employ a dual verification process:
- Official School Email: Students must verify using their institutional address (e.g.,
student@unilag.edu.ng,student@ui.edu.ng). - Manual Document Review: Where institutional emails are inactive or unavailable, students must upload a valid student ID card or semester registration receipt. These files are processed by our compliance team and permanently deleted immediately after verification.
Once verified, the student's email/document record is detached from their account and replaced with a one-way cryptographic signature. Even if Kamp's servers were breached, it is mathematically impossible to link a post or comment to a specific student's email or identity.
Kamp's data minimization architectures are designed to comply with the Nigerian Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023. By design, we do not store names, phone numbers, or residential addresses, ensuring we hold no personally identifiable information (PII) linked to user content.
3. Proactive Moderation & Anti-Harassment
Kamp takes a strong stand against cyberbullying. Our automated algorithms block posts containing phone numbers, personal email listings, bank details, or residential addresses to prevent doxxing.
Furthermore, our guidelines prohibit smearing, abusing, or attacking individuals. The student-led moderation system (the "Kamp Council") actively monitors flagged posts, ensuring that comments targeting specific roommates, classmates, or lecturers by full name are removed.
4. Zero Tolerance for Cultism & Violence
Confraternities and campus cultism are serious concerns within the Nigerian educational space. Kamp enforces an absolute zero-tolerance policy. Any posts containing cult symbols, coded slogans, gang recruitment, or violence warnings are automatically flagged, removed, and lead to an immediate permanent device and account ban.
5. Direct Contact Channel for Administrators
We work in collaboration with university security units and student affairs departments.
